Description

Immerse yourself in an adventure through the tropical jungle of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, full of incredible landscapes and wild animals towards Lost City, one of the seven natural wonders of Colombia. It is necessary to have a good physical condition since the hikes have approximately 7 to 8 hours of duration a day.

    Day 1: Santa Marta - Mamey - Adán's Cabin
    This excursion will start with the pick-up at the accommodation from 7 :00 a.m. approximately. Then, a journey of approximately two and a half hours will be made to the Mamey where the lunch of the day will be provided and a stop to rest. Then, the activities are resumed with a hike of approximately 3 hours to the first station known in the region with the names of: Adán's Cabin, place where you can enjoy the Honduras Creek, which is a beautiful natural pool or a little further onAlfredo's Cabin. Dinner will be served at 06:30 pm and the bedrooms for the first day will be in hammocks with mosquito nets.

    Day 2: Adán's Cabin - Indigenous People - Mumake Cabin - Paradise Cabin
    This day will begin with the departure from Adán's Cabin to Paradise Cabin, on a journey of 14.7 kilometers which will take approximately 8 hours. During the trip we visit the indigenous town, which is a great place to take pictures and interact with the local people. Likewise, you can enjoy the fabulous waters of the Buritaca River. Dinner will be served at 06:00 pm, Dorms for this day will be in beds or hammocks with mosquito nets.

    Day 3 and 4: Paradise Cabin - Lost City - Mumake Cabin
    The departure is made from the Paradise Cabin to Lost City, thanks to the host guide who will carry out the tour and the explanation about the history of Lost City, the period for this activity is 3 hours. Next, from the Lost City, the return will be made to the Mumake Cabin; in a journey of 7.6 kilometers, during a time of approximately 4 hours. Recreational activities, food and lodging are carried out in the cabin.

    Day 5: Mumake Cabin - Paradise Cabin - Adán's Cabin / Alfredo's Cabin
    The return is made to reach the Adán or Alfredo's Cabin, arrival estimated time 12:00 pm, you can again enjoy the Honduras Creek which is a beautiful natural pool; dinner will be served at 6:00 pm Dorms for this day will be in beds or hammocks with mosquito nets.

    Day 6: Adán's Cabin - Mumake Cabin - Destination Santa Marta
    At the Adán's Cabin we will have breakfast at 7:00 a.m., then we will start the 3 hour hike to the Mamey region. Estimated time of arrival is 1:00 p.m. where lunch and a brief rest will be taken. Finally, we will return by car to the city of Santa Marta.

  • Discounts for children are not applied on the Lost City tour.
    You will have a maximum of 24 hours to cancel the service and only bank and administrative surcharges will be applied.
    In case of rescheduling, you must check availability to modify the reservation date with a minimum of 24 hours previous to the service, which will be subject to the number of spaces available on the required dates. Visit Santa Marta reserves the right to recognize reasons of force majeure.
    Once the service has been requested to be rescheduled and the client decides to cancel it less than 24 hours before the service is rendered, a charge of 100% of the contracted amount will be applied.
    No Show is considered when after contracting a service, the participants do not attend to purchase it, and a cancellation is not made 15 days in advance so that 100% of the value of the service is charged.
    If a cancellation is made less than 24 hours before the service is rendered, a penalty equivalent to 30% of the value of the service will be charged.

  • What should you keep in mind during and before the tour?

    - It is important to stay hydrated throughout the trek.
    - Minimize your garbage and deposit it in the indicated places.
    - To maintain a harmonious environment and support the care of the natural environment, it is vital to respect wildlife and local customs, therefore we invite you to leave the places you visit as you found them or better.
    - It is necessary to have a good physical condition, since the walks are from 7 to 8 hours a day.
    - Take all your electronic devices charged and, if possible, take a portable battery
    - Take with you only what is necessary for 4 days, remember that it is a long walk.
    - Wear comfortable clothes and take into account the weather that is hot in the day and humid at night. It is important to wear long pants and long sleeved sweaters to sleep due to mosquitoes or insects.
    - Please note that this is an ecological destination with some adaptations in the accommodation, bathrooms and rest area to ensure a pleasant experience.
    - During the trip, follow the instructions of the guide at all times.
    - In each camp there are stores where you can buy Gatorade, water, drinks and snacks.
    - You are responsible for your personal belongings. Please take care of them.
    - It is prohibited: drugs, alcohol in excess, prostitution and bad behavior that threatens others.
    Note: all travelers (including those of Colombian nationality) who travel to Lost City, must present the result of the negative Covid-19 test with a maximum of 72 hours before starting the tour.
